मिग 21 का आ गया विदाई का वक्त, सितंबर 2025 में हो जाएगा फेज आउट, 62 साल बाद लेगा अलविदा
नई दिल्ली। भारतीय वायु सेना रूस निर्मित मिग-21 लड़ाकू विमानों को सिंतबर में सेवानिवृत्त कर देगी। करीब 62 साल तक भारतीय वायुसेना को सेवा देने के बाद मिग-21 को चंडीगढ़ एयरबेस पर एक खास समारोह में विदाई दी जाएगी।
मिग-21 को 1963 में वायु सेना में शामिल किया गया था। इस विमान ने 1965, 1971, 1999 और 2019 की सभी बड़ी सैन्य कार्रवाइयों में भाग लिया है।
क्या है इस फाइटर जेट का अतीत?
मिग-21 एक हल्का सिंगल पायलट फाइटर जेट है। भारतीय वायुसेना ने पहली बार 1960 में मिग-21 विमानों को अपने बेड़े में शामिल किया था। सोवियत रूस के मिकोयान-गुरेविच डिजाइन ब्यूरो ने इसे 1959 में बनाना शुरु किया था। यह विमान 18 हजार मीटर तक की ऊंचाई पर उड़ान भर सकता है। ये एअर टू एअर मिसाइलों और बम को अपने साथ ले जाने में सक्षम है।
इसकी स्पीड अधिकतम 2,230 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटे यानी 1,204 नॉट्स (माक 2.05) तक की हो सकती है। 1965 और 1971 में हुए भारत-पाक युद्ध में मिग-21 विमानों का इस्तेमाल हुआ था। 1971 में भारतीय मिग ने चेंगड़ु एफ विमान (ये भी मिग का ही एक और वेरियंट था जिसे चीन ने बनाया था) को गिराया था।
क्यों कहा जाता है फ्लाइंग कॉफिन?
ये विमान रूस ने बनाया है कि लेकिन इसमें कई खामियों की वजह से ये क्रैश कर जाता है। इस विमान को रूस ने 1985 में रिटायर कर दिया था। यहां तक की अफगानिस्तान और बांग्लादेश ने भी इस विमान को रिटायर कर दिया है। खराब रिकोर्ड की वजह से इस विमान के लिए कई उपनाम गढ़े गए हैं, इसे ‘विडो मेकर’, ‘फ्लाइंग कॉफिन’ यानी उड़ता हुआ ताबूत कहा जाता है।
रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, इस विमान की पायलट विंडो की डिजायन ऐसी है कि इससे पायलट को रनवे देखने में परेशानी होती है। इसके अलावा विमान को लेकर शिकायत की जाती रही है कि लैंडिंग के वक्त तेजी से लैंड करता है। इससे इसका खतरा कहीं अधिक बढ़ जाता है।
